Our Services

We know that outdoor play is essential for kids. However, some children need support to be successful in this type of environment. Whether that’s due to difficulty with motor skills, self regulation, attention, social skills, or any other area of development, we provide structured therapeutic groups led by licensed professionals to help our kids succeed! Take a look at the services below to learn more about the programs we offer.

Forest Fridays: Inclusive

Pre-School

Play Groups

Inclusive play groups are run by a licensed occupational therapist (OT) or occupational therapy assistant (OTA). Children are matched with peers of similar ages and developmental levels, and activities will focus on building social skills, self regulation, and coordination. Play groups will also center around mindfulness and connecting with nature, to build emotional regulation and resilience.

High School Hiking Club

Join us once a month at rotating locations around Louisville for a new, inclusive hiking club for high schoolers age 14-21. We will hike 1/2 mile to 2 miles on fully accessible trails (yes, this includes wheelchair accessible) while learning about mindfulness and the plants/animals we see.

ASL Day Camp

Outside the Box is excited to partner with Language First for a brand new program- nature day camps for Deaf and Hard of hearing children, led by bilingual (English and ASL) speech therapists! Click below to learn more and register.

Community Partnerships

Community partnerships allow us to bring nature based therapy to more children and families! We can customize a program to meet your organization’s needs. We love partnering with after school groups and other community organizations to help you bring more nature play and adventure into your organization.
